The CISDD Career Center has one immediate part time internship position 
(on-campus paid internship) available through the CUNY/HRA Internship 
Program.
v      Skills Required: 
Programming skills in Visual Basic.NET; Visual Basic 6; and the knowledge 
of either computer system design or database design is essential. The 
ability to follow the logic stream of a legacy system and convert that 
logic into a 4GL is of utmost importance. The chosen candidate should have 
good written and verbal skills, the ability to interact with all levels of 
employees, and be able to convey technical specifications from 
non-technical to technical staff. 
v      Experience Desired: 
·        At least six months of Visual Basic.NET programming, and one year 
of another programming language which should include advanced 
college-level programming courses 
·         Some knowledge of HTML/XHTML/Soap or Java Programming 
·         Some knowledge of SQL Server 
·         Crystal Reports and/or other reporting package such as SQL 
Reporting Services 
·         Some knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Access 
·         Good communication skills 
·        Experience with legacy systems (Unix/Informix or IBM Mainframe) 
is a plus.
v      Specific Job Description
Immediate need (Nov. 1, 2008) for a Programmer or Programmer/ Analyst to 
assist in the conversion of various mainframe systems to web- and/or 
non-web-based database systems or reporting systems. These systems relate 
to the NYC welfare, food stamp, public assistance, child care and Katrina 
care programs developed to give aid to those needy populations.
