CITY OF NEW YORK - DEPARTMENT OF CITYWIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (DCAS)
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
DCAS seeks to hire College Aides to work in NYCAPS Central, a shared 
services center supporting the NYCAPS (New York City Automated Personnel 
System) PeopleSoft application.
 
Civil Service Title: College Aide 
Salary: $ 10.00/PH 
Office Title: College Aide 
Work Location: 59 Maiden Lane, 38th Floor, New York, NY 10038
Number of Positions: 2
Day/Night Shift: Day
 
Prospective candidates will perform duties that include, but are not 
limited, to the following:
? Perform daily administrative and clerical tasks
? Handle telephone inquiries, direct calls, and follow ups
? Develop and maintain the filing systems
? Update and maintain existing databases
? Create and maintain inquiry tickets through Remedy CRM application
? Produce and maintain weekly reports to NYC agencies
? Assist with special projects as needed
 
Preferred Skills:
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 20 words per 
minute; extensive knowledge of MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel; strong 
verbal and written communication skills, able to maintain friendly 
disposition to all callers and colleagues; strong internet research 
skills; detail-oriented and organized.
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school is required. 
Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or 
graduate school.
 
SPECIAL NOTE
Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 
years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in 
which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students 
may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
New York City residency is required at the time of appointment.
