SBS Software Developer Internship Job Description
 
In partnership with the Department of Small Business Services (SBS), the 
CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development (CISDD) has an exciting 
internship position available for CUNY students. The program allows 
students to receive practical hands-on training and experience while 
assisting SBS in achieving their long-term objectives. The internship will 
be at SBS offices in NYC and the position is categorized as a Software 
Developer. Although the location is at SBS, this is considered an 
on-campus position. 
 
Qualifications for SBS interns:
 
Current CUNY registered undergraduate and graduate students
Available to work part-time 19 hours per week
Authorized to work under INS laws for on-campus jobs
Responsibilities:
Perform detailed analysis for existing systems and software applications 
Develop new software solutions and re-engineer existing applications 
Document application development process and procedures 
Participate in logical database design with database administrator, 
software architecture with developers 
Create software prototypes and participate in design workshops 
Create test cases and training documentation 
Perform time estimates, project schedules, and other planning activities 
Skills:
Web development / programming  skills. (NET, C#, ASP, ASP.NET, Cold 
Fusion, VB)
Front-end coding experience (HTML, CSS, Javascript) 
Strong database and data manipulation skills - SQL, Access, Excel
Experience with services oriented architectures (SOA), web services, SOAP 
and XML (will be a plus)
Able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize while working on 
several projects simultaneously 
Excellent communications skills with non-technical end users 
 
Pay Rate:
 
$12 per hour
